About MoneyPilot

MoneyPilot makes the maths behind everyday money decisions clear. We build free calculators for mortgages, savings and debt for people in the United States, the United Kingdom and Canada β€” no sign-up, no data collection of your inputs, and no hidden assumptions.

Our mission

Financial decisions are among the largest most people ever make, yet the tools to evaluate them are often opaque. We believe you should be able to see exactly how a number was reached. That's why every calculator publishes its formula, a worked example and plain-language definitions.

Our mathematical standards

  • Industry-standard formulas. Mortgages use the standard annuity formula; savings use effective-rate compound interest; debt payoff uses month-by-month simulation.
  • Regional accuracy. Canadian fixed-rate mortgages compound semi-annually as required by the Interest Act β€” we apply this automatically.
  • Tested calculations. Our core formulas are checked against known reference values with automated tests.
  • Full precision. Calculations run at full floating-point precision and are only rounded for display.
  • Private by design. All calculations happen in your browser. The numbers you enter are never sent to our servers.

Important note

Our calculators are educational tools and do not constitute financial, tax or legal advice. Always confirm figures with a qualified professional before making decisions.
